David Ahlman (previously Heber Oak and Dave E. Ahlman) graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utah Valley University (UVU) with a Bachelor of Science in English in 2017 and has since returned to UVU to complete Education Licensure . His written work has appeared in a number of publications including Claudius Speaks, High Shelf Press, Cathexis Northwest Press, The Flagler Review and others. He received Special Merit as part of the Princemere Poetry Competition in 2017 and, most recently, Honorable Mention in the Salt Lake Community Writing Center’s Wasatch IronPen Competition in 2019. He, his wife, and their dogs reside in Saratoga Springs, Utah on the Jordan River’s edge. David plans to pursue a Masters and, later, a Doctorate degree in Creative Writing.
